Dr. Barmakian
Joseph T. Barmakian, M.D. is board certified in orthopaedic surgery with
additional certification in hand surgery. A native of Chatham, New Jersey,
he graduated from Bucknell University and attended Rutgers Medical School
where he graduated with honors in 1984. Dr. Barmakian received his training
in orthopaedic surgery at the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New
York City and then completed a one year fellowship in hand surgery at the
Hospital for Joint Diseases-Orthopaedic Institute. He was elected to both
the American and New York Societies for Surgery of the Hand. He is a member
of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the New Jersey Orthopaedic
Society and the Medical Society of New Jersey. Dr. Barmakian has published
research related to the field of hand surgery in national medical journals.
He has been in private practice in New Jersey since 1990.
